Syntax - Pray (2003)
Here's another of those stop you in your tracks songs for me. The backing reminds me a little of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love'.
When I first heard it, I was working a "in between jobs job" for a courier firm. My heart was really not in answering calls from Korea asking for who signed for a package or arguing with FedEx about a miss delivery. Because of this my time keeping was on the edge and I only gave myself just the exact amount of time to get to work in the morning. One day, during my usual singalong to the radio, this song came on. After hearing it maybe a couple of times, I was dying to know who it was. I pulled into my work's car park but I only had 2 minutes to swipe in! Never mind I thought, this song is so worth being late for and enduring the wrath of my boss!

Flycasual loved the track too after I gave him a copy of a compilation I made. I remember him buying the album and my whole family loving it. The album was full of great industrial-rock-dance gems! Sadly the album although groundbreakingly different didn't seem to take off. Syntax split the year after its release. But news just in! They have reformed and are recording a new album!
