The Temper Trap - 'Trembling Hands' (2012)
The Temper Trap's single Sweet Disposition was a superb song and for me was synonymous with warm summer days back in 2009. Sadly I wasn't excited by other songs I heard, something was missing. I was enjoying this song playing on the radio at work this week, so went over to patiently wait for the 'now playing' to scroll along. Finally it revealed it was the new single released in May from Aussie Indie group, The Temper Trap. I loved it! It has the same hopeful sentiment as I got from Sweet Disposition and is the first song in a long while to give me goosebumps. I am definitely going to give their new self titled album the ear it deserves from this effort. Perfect video for the upcoming Olympics too. From humble beginnings do champions make...come on England!

Radiation City - 'Find it of Use' (2012)
I've been meaning to post this fabulously unusual track for awhile now, ever since Old Pa's Corner did a post about great endings (see it here), as I think this one as can be included. It has so many different layers, it almost feels like four songs in one. It starts off with this sort of vintage feel which for some reason reminds me of an old French Chanteuse in a smokey Paris club....I don't know, maybe it's just me. Then a nice little rhythm and hook starts up, it then goes off on a tangent for a bit before ending again with the same hook. Magical! Radiation City hail out of the musically rich city of Portland, Oregon and certainly keep in line with it's mantra of "Keep Portland Wierd". 'Find it of Use' is taken from their latest EP 'Cool Nightmare'. Portland's best new band apparently!
Check out the remix with free download...boom!

Trails and Ways - Nunca (2012)
Old Pa's Corner :-
The King Blues - We are what we Own (2012)
This is a catchy little number with shades of the Clash in the chorus and is without doubt my track of the week.
Finally 'you reap what you sow'.

SH, definitely a grower..liked the video, nice gig to do the shoot in Cuba (I think)
Sfw, this is great, gonna keep track of these guys. Great vid too.
Old Pa, not bad some good lines..'If you're not angry, then you're not listening'. Shades of Jamie T who I think you'd like too.
on my song the video cuts out the ending, you'd have to listen to the song proper to know what I'm banging on about.
