TRACKS OF THE WEEK 05-02-2017 - Kevin Krauter, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Black Books, Fink
Hurray For the Riff Raff - 'Rican Beach' (2017)
Here is a track from the new album by Hurray For the Riff Raff. I have to say I have always loved that name. This track is excellent has a great pounding beat and the lyrics are pretty good. Do I detect a protest song here, I think I do. Gets better with every hearing, I love this to my bones.
Flycasual:-
Fink - 'Boneyard' (2017)
More 'noire', or rather 'bleu', for Flycasual this week with this dubbby Blues corker from the Cornish DJ/Singer songwriter, Fink, taken from his forthcoming project, Sunday Night Blues Club Vol 1.
SFW:-
Kevin Krauter - 'Bachelor' (2016)
I have been obsessed over this song for well over a week and I've been listening to it so many times that my wife has started shouting "change this record!".
Kevin Krauter is a member of Indiana indie-rockers Hoops, comparisons to Wilco (“Muzzle Of Bees,”), Kurt Vile or Grizzly Bear’s are not off the mark. My only dissapointment is that I've only recently discovered it. Bloody lovely!
London Scouser:-
Black Books - 'Golden OK' (2017)
I featured Black Books last year with 'Automatic' and said I couldn't wait to hear their second album. It's taken longer than I hoped, but 'Can't Even' is almost here. As soon as this track starts I am instantly impressed. It's dreamy pop perfection in my opinion and on the strength of this, I will not be disappointed with the rest of the album.
