WEDNESDAY CLUB - John Lee Hooker & Van Morrison/Them- Don't Look Back
MIDWEEK CRISIS you need to let it all out, come to WEDNESDAY CLUB we have John Lee, Van the Man and Davey Lobben, he will show you how.
JOHN LEE HOOKER & VAN MORRISON - Don't Look Back
THEM(Ft Van Morrison) - Don't Look Back
There is not much you can say about these two fabulous versions of 'Don't Look Back' they are simply brilliant, magnificent, fantastic. John Lee Hooker had a great second career when he released the album 'The Healer' (1989). He then released several albums before he passed away in 2001 and many contemporary artist guested on these albums. Van Morrison was a long time fan of John Lee and has duetted many times with him, This is one of the best.
While I was thinking about this Post and trying not 'to look back' this little story from way back came to me. Hope you enjoy it, as I still laugh out loud when I think of it.
At the top table
We tried, we tried

The Legend of Davy Lobben
The Library, a place of quiet reflection
A place to revise and study
In silence
Fat Bess was in charge today
Her reputation was
You never messed with Fat Bess
At the top table
Me, Robbie McGregor and Davey Lobben
We were trying to make hand farts
When Robbie slipped a real one out
One of these sharp squeaky wet ones
One of these sharp squeaky wet ones
We tried, we tried
To suppress the bubbling laughter
Davey Lobben was loosing it big time
Grunting primal sounds were coming
From deep inside his trembling body
There was an explosion
Out of his nose came the most enormous snotter
I had the privilege to ever witness
Down his tie, down his shirt exploding on the desk top
Yellow and green sticky goo!
The whole place burst with uncontrollable laughter
Vesuvius had escaped her shackles
Nothing could stop the laughter
A Tsunami of laughter
Fat Bess was getting redder and redder with anger
She had lost control
Lost control of the Library
The Legend of Davy Lobben
Was born
If you are not familiar with Them check out immediately as they were magnificent and so underrated.
