TRACKS OF THE WEEK 14/02/2016 - The Milk, James Hunter, Steve Mason, Travis
TRACKS OF THE WEEK
London Scouser:-
Travis - 'Everything At Once' (2015)
When I first heard this I instantly liked it with its catchy chorus. I didn't know at the time it was Travis, as its different to what they made their name with. It was released at the back end of 2015 and is the title track for their new album due out in April. They have followed it up with '3 Miles High' which is a much gentler sound and very like some of their ballady hits.
Sfw:-
The Milk - Deliver Me (2014)
This week I have broken the rules for TOTW, I've not only changed my track, but it is from 2014. The Milk are four Essex boys who released their sophomore album, Favourite Worry, via the wonderful Wah Wah 45s label, last year. Since listening to this I've made Favourite Worry my "album-for-a-Sunday" and feel like going through (another) soul revival. Great stuff.

James Hunter - Somethings Calling (2016)
James Hunter, I just die for his voice. There is always that Sam Cooke vibe shining through. This has that fities, sixties feel and I just love it. This track is taken from his new album 'Hold On!' . This is number one on my list.
Shell Hunter:-
Steve Mason - 'Planet Sizes' (2016)

Steve Mason - 'Planet Sizes' (2016)
It seems like forever since we had Steve Mason on Tunedr. He is gearing up to release another album on 26th Feb called Meet The Humans and I'm hopeful it will be a corker. Here's the first offering which I instantly love. His voice is its soothing, melodic self and its got a tune which will be hanging in the air for hours after you play it. Mr Mason has recently moved to one of my favourite places in the world, Brighton. What a great place for inspiration and diversity which I've read will span folk, pop, dub and deep house. Sorted.
