R.I.P Whitney Houston - 'The Greatest Love of All'

In Memory of Whitney Houston who sadly passed away yesterday at the young age of 48. R.I.P.

WHITNEY HOUSTON - The Greatest Love of All

It is not really my type of music but who could not like or appreciate 'I will always Love You'. She was certainly a beautiful woman blessed with a superb voice and most certainly made a lot of people happy with her talent. I have chosen a song which I love 'The Greatest Love of all' the theme song from the Muhammad Ali film 'The Greatest'.sung originally by George Benson. Whitney almost makes it her own.

Definitely not my cup of tea, especially when I was growing up, her saccharin pop used to get on my tits. But I'm older and wiser now and there's absolutely no doubt she was a phenomenal talent with and incredible voice, laying down the groundwork for todays R&B stars. If anything the film The Bodyguard has good memories as I managed to get my first kiss in on my girlfriend. I wanted to throw knives and handle men like Costner!!! Dolly Parton version is by far the better version of 'I Will Always Love You' though. Sorry love.

Whitney Houston will always be remembered by anyone who lived in the 80's. "I wanna dance with somebody" always seemed to be a magnet to the dance floor for drunken women, and probably features in the 'break(out) in case of an emergency' record stash of any dj's working weddings & work parties. You can't argue with her talent, but bad choices (bobby brown & drugs) and her legendary diva attitude certainly stopped her from being a true great. Expect the onslaught of greatest hits.
