Olive - You're Not Alone (1996)

"Attending one of my early year 'hardcore' rave nightclubs where boys and girls toilets were shared and touching and feeling everyone seemed to be normal under the ultraviolet lights and lasers. It was around 03:30am and this track was playing when bright lights were switched on and suddenly you were able to see the person next to you as well as a whole lot of policemen in the club. No we were not about to witness a 1996 version of the YMCA....it was a raid. As we were all ushered out of the club to be searched outside against the wall I could not help notice how many 'disco biscuits' (yes brightly coloured pills) were being dropped on the floor as people were leaving. So for me this track will always be, 'bright light and pills on the floor' :-)"

Where did I drop my 'disco biscuits' ?

Tune! Saw them live 1997, I think the single might still have been number one at the time. Good album too. Funny how some things date very quickly and others sound as fresh as this after 15 years.

I agree TS! Top tune Gav, one of my all time faves of the 90s! It reminds me of being on the 111 bus on the way home from school listening to it on my Walkman on the top deck ironically being the only one there! I never listened to the album, I think I'll check it out now!

Thanks for the guest spot Gavin, great track. "Touching and feeling everyone was normal", all very well in theory but can u imagine the disappointment you'd feel as the lights go on and you realise, disco biscuit or not, that the person next to you is actually Pat Butcher or derivative thereof!?
