DYLAN COVERS # 104 Happy Traum/Vic Chesnutt - Buckets of Rain

And a flute that toots!

HAPPY TRAUM with WOODY MANN - Buckets of Rain

Hear are two great versions of  Buckets of Rain. It could be argued that both these guys have made the song their own. But I just have to go for the Vic version,  it oozes emotion, I just love it.

Happy Traum goes back to the early days with Bob and was the first person to actually record Blowin' in the Wind, even before Peter Paul and Mary's version.

Later he re-recorded some tracks with Dylan for his Greatest Hits Vol 2. These track, I shall be Released, Down in the Flood and You Ain't Goin' Nowhere  have some great banjo playing and a nice laid back feel.

I may do some more Happy Traum covering Dylan next week.

This Vic version is fabulous.

Nice to hear a lesser known song from BOTT acknowledged. The Happy Traum version is nice enough, but (much like Gene Clark) Vic Chesnutt could've sung the phone book and made it sound magnificent. Such a tragic loss.
