FOUR TOPS - If I Were a Carpenter(1967)

I am in the U.K this week and heading to Latitude Festival, it is my first Festival and it is on my Bucket List....hope I make it through and I experience some nice little stories to share, along with some great music too. Watch this space.

I watched a Documentary a few days ago about Tamla Motown and it just hit me how important that label was to me in the sixties. I loved it all, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Supremes just to mention a few. It was the soundtrack of me growing up. I have chosen two selection from the fantastic catalogue of the fabulous Four Tops and the sensational voice of the late Levi Stubbs.

How can you go wrong with the great Tim Hardin song If I were a Carpenter. The FT give it the full TM treatment, just magnificent. This is followed by the dramatic 7 Rooms of Gloom which showcases  Levi at his very best.

Yes - If I Were A Carpenter - one of my fave songs!
Enjoy Latitude! Not a million miles from me so I shall be standing in my garden with a hand cupped to my ear in the hope of hearing some occasional tunes on the breeze! (and don't forget the suncream...)
