TRACKS OF THE WEEK 08/06/15 - The Late Call, David Corley, Shamir

Three tracks that gave a good account of themselves...

SFW:-
The Late Call - Carry (2015)
Johannes Mayer, aka THE LATE CALL, is a Stockholm-based, English-singing German. A cross between The Doves and Elbow, Carry is a rousing, uplifting glimpse of sunshine. It features on his latest album, Golden and can really pick up your day!

Old Pa's Corner :-
David Corley - Easy Mistake (2015)

You forget the sound that love makes

No prices for guessing who this guy is being compared with. He is in his 50's and this is his first album Available Light (2015). This is a cracking track with little hints of Van influence, which is of no hindrance. The album is well worth checking out. Make 'no mistake'  David Corley has arrived.

Flycasual:-
Shamir - 'Call It Off' (2015)

A song which has been running around my brain for a number of weeks now but I wasn't sure which of the numerous camp-ilicious dance tracks to feature from the Las Vegas man's debut album, Ratchet. However, with muppets in the video, an acid like beat and with Jimmy Somerville-esque vocals, it had to be 'Call It Off'. A perfectly acceptable way to get dumped.

Sfw, pleasant enough to perhaps make you a half pirouette.

Old Pa, now this track makes me happy...great stuff. As well as Van, there's a bit of Mark Lanegan and Tom Waits.
