TWO FOR THE MONEY - SAND

TWO FOR THE MONEY - SAND
SANDS OF GUADAMAR

JIMI HENDRIX - Castles Made of Sand

Saw a pictue on a wall last week of the Sands of Guadamar a place just up from me. It made me think that the name has to sound right in a song. If you know what I mean. The Sands of Torrievieja or the Sands of Nairn just don't do it. But the Sands of Guadamar hits the spot. Funny what gives you the spark. Hope you like my Sandy effort below. (based on actual events of course)

PATSY CLINE - Love Letters in the Sand
SANDS OF GUADAMAR
It was our first meeting together
we decided to go down to the beach
we found a little place in a corner
close to the sea but out of its reach
the restaurant was bustling with laughter
we looked up in awe at the blue Spanish sky
the smell of freshly cooked garlic
and the sounds of a gull in the sky

some days are born to remember
most just fade and you forget
that day will stay with me forever
us sitting in that restaurant bar

on the sands of Guadamar

Together we checked the simple menu
an aperitif of chilled Rosado wine
we both went for the house specialties
but everything on that menu looked fine
crispy chipitoes, calamari de Romano
salade mixta and loads of potatas frites
it was a mouth watering explosion
as we both prepared for the feast

some days are born to remember
most just fade and you forget
that day will stay with me forever
us dining in that restaurant bar

on the sands of Guadamar

Maybe it was because of her company
could have been the smell of the sea
but we finished that second bottle
and were soon into pink nectar three
it was then i looked in her eyes
she laughed and giggled at my line
I said I’m falling in love you
she said you've drank too much wine

some days are born to remember
most just fade and you forget
that day will stay with me forever
us laughing in that restaurant bar

on the sands of Guadamar

SANDS OF GUADAMAR - I can see the posters for the film already. Very evocative. Great. great tunes, of course.
