Ethan Johns skills as a producer are well known (Ryan Adams, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne, Kings Of Leon, etc..) but as a singer-songwriter, his material never really has knocked me out - well that is until now. Silver Liner is the title track from an album that he recorded with with a cast of musicians – including Gillian Welch and fellow Black Eyed Dogs, BJ Cole and Jeremy Stacey.  Neil Young, Randy Newman and touches of Dylan, what's not to like?
