TRACKS OF THE WEEK 12/12/2016 - Laura Marling, Neil Young, TOY

TRACKS OF THE WEEK

SFW:-
Laura Marling - 'Soothing' (2016)

Laura Marling is back with this lovely track! Following the release last years "Short Movie", it is a change of style from Marling and sees a infectious Bass hook (that is not too dissimilar to The Beatles "Come Together") holding the song together. It is the first single from her new album 'Semper Femina’, which is out in March. I do hope it has more tracks like this as I only recently re-listened to 2010s, "I Speak Because I Can", which in my humble opinion is a blooming masterpiece!

Old Pa:-
Neil Young - Peace Trail

Here is the lead track from Neil Young's latest album. It is the second new album this year. The old boy has still got it. This track is really good and can be compared with some of his best work. Peace to you all brothers and sisters.

Flycasual:-
TOY - I'm Still Believing (2016)

Late contender for one of my tracks of the year and the album is pretty solid too. 'I'm Still Believing' is taken from the Brighton band's third album, Clear Shot. Not normally what I'd go for but this ticked all the boxes, just that kind of jangly, Indie, psychaedelic ting going on with, the right amount of melancholy thrown in.

FC - Brilliantly described and I agree with everything, a contender
SFW - Just a hint of 'come together' but really nice track

OP - I've only heard a couple of tracks from "Peace Trail" and you're right about him still having it
FC - Need to give it another go. Sounds a bit like the Lightning Seeds and I wasn't keen on the Lightning seeds.
