TRACKS OF THE WEEK 22-04-2018 - Boy Azooga, Pearl Jam, Leon Bridges, Wye Oak,

Tracks Of The Week

Flycasual:-
Boy Azooga - 'Loner Boogie' (2018)

Akin to eating a 3 piece houmous snack pack, Loner Boogie, from Cardiff based Boy Azooga, was instant gratification. This delicious track is taken from their forthcoming debut album, 1-2 Kung Fu.

London Scouser:-
Pearl Jam - Can't Deny Me (2018)

Eddie and the boys are back with a bang for this great new track. It's reminiscent of their louder sounds that I associate with 'Vitalogy' and 'Spin The Black Circle' in particular. I would have loved to have seen them on the UK leg of their current tour, but tickets were sold out nano-seconds after they went on sale. I'm grateful that I did manage to see them back in the early 90's however as they were bloody awesome.

SFW:-
Leon Bridges - Bad Bad News (2018)

Suns out, guns out, sunglasses on, car window down and this blasting out of the stereo and you’ll feeling as cool as Lando Calrissian. Leon Bridges is back with this Soul/Jazz ditty which will feature on his new album ‘Good Thing’, which is out on May the 4th (be with you). His 2015 debut, ‘Coming Home’, still has regular plays at my house, and I’m liking the jazz feel of this. I particularly like the jazz guitar solo, which makes me pull the ‘jazz face’ (something like De Niro doing his thing), you know it....right?

Old Pa:-
Wye Oak - It Was Not Natural

Never heard of Wye Oak, but I suppose I'm a bit out of touch these days, time to get back in there!
This is fabulous, great voice and nice and haunting. This one gets right inside your head. I can't stop playing it. It's a contender.
