ROBBIE ROBERTSON - Somewhee Down the Crazy River

BAD GOING DOWN

I was half watching an Australian movie, it was a bit slow. I picked up my phone and made a few notes as I was watching. By the time the movie had finished I had the start of something. I looked at these notes the next day and come up with  Bad Going Down  which is very loosely based on the movie. Saying that I don't think you get Navajo Indians in Australia. I did say loosely based.

BAD GOING DOWN

It's desolate dangerous

45 in the shade

dust swirls up

from the arid winds

the only ones left now

are ones who have sinned

the inbreds, losers, hookers and dead

there's bad going down

near Old Crow's creek

things you don't see

things you don't speak

It's desolate dangerous

45 in the shade

many a hazard

this sweltering heat

the day burns you up

there's things ready in wait

vultures, scorpions, spiders and snakes

It's desolate dangerous

45 in the shade

he came back

to this hell on earth

a place from his past

'don't sell our lands to them'

a Navajo Indian speaks in old tongue

there's bad going down

near Old Crow's creek
