Paul Weller is a legend. Fact. However, for me, he can be a bit hit or miss. This track though smacks of his brilliant best. It features on his first-ever full film score / soundtrack project, entitled JAWBONE. It's a boxing film and "The Ballad of Jimmy McCabe" is a tender moment that catches the main characters emotional state. "I'll beat my head 'til dawn / Figure out what I'm running from / Only then will I find peace in me." Probably not a daddy - daughter type of movie.
It seems it might be a busy year for the Modfather as he will be releasing his 13th solo studio album, A Kind of Revolution in the spring.
