Darondo - Didn't I
Sometimes you need to put down the acoustic and pickup a strat. William "Darondo" Pulliam is a soul/funk singer originally from Berkeley, California. Vocally, he's Al Green, Curtis Mayfield & Sly Stone rolled into one but despite this excellent track he is virtually unknown (outside soul/funk affectionados). The excellent Gilles Peterson brought his music to a wider audience when he featured this on his 2005 compilation album Gilles Peterson Digs America, and he was eventually tracked down and ended up playing 2008's SXSW festival and "didn't I" featured on Breaking Bad
